How to Transfer Summertime Saga Saves Safely

A cautious workflow for moving progress between installations or devices without sacrificing the original working copy.

Copy, Don't Move, First

The safest first transfer is a copy. Keep the original save where it is until the destination has been tested successfully. This gives you a recovery point if the destination installation does not recognize the file.

Never use your only save as the transfer copy. Create a separate backup before experimenting with a new device or version.

Transfer Workflow

  1. Close the game on the source installation.
  2. Identify the working save you want to preserve.
  3. Create a separate backup copy.
  4. Record the source game version.
  5. Copy the save to the destination's expected save location.
  6. Start the destination installation and test the copied save.
  7. Keep the source copy until you know the destination is working normally.

If the Destination Does Not See the Save

Do not immediately assume the file is incompatible. First check whether the file was copied to the expected location and whether the destination installation is actually using that location.

  • Confirm the filename and extension have not changed.
  • Check that the copy completed successfully.
  • Confirm you are testing the intended installation.
  • Compare the source and destination versions.
  • Do not delete the original until the problem is understood.
